Tourmaline:
I am Tourmaline, the gemstone of many colors. The flowers
in the fields, the birds of the air and the essense of the
changing seasons are all encompassed within my many hues.
I was the final companion to the last Empress of China, her
head gently cradled on my lap as she rests in her eternal
sleep. My fingers possess a healing touch. Hold my hand and
I will restore your "prana," the vital energy of your soul.
Wear me as an amulet and I will bring to you both friends
and lovers.
Qualities: Tourmaline is a complex and exciting
group of gemstones offering almost every color of the spectrum.
Care: Most gemstones, including diamond, need
enhancement through cutting or treatment to be enjoyed in
a piece of jewelry. Tourmaline may be heated or safely irradiated
to permanently produce one of its dazzling hues. While Tourmaline
is worn by many active people, it is advisable to remove it
before engaging in activities that may cause wear and scratching
such as sports, housework and gardening. Avoid home ultrasonic
cleaning.
Why Tourmaline? While today we are not limited
by tradition, the symbolism of Tourmaline is treasured as
the birthstone for October along with the gemstone, Opal.
